How to Lanolize Organic Wool Diaper Covers
Step 1 – Fill the sink with luke warm water and a small squirt of special wool wash/soap. Gently swish your wool around the sink and leave to soak for 5 minutes. Then, remove wool and fold in a towel to press out excess water. Do not wring your wool out as this will cause it to lose shape.
Step 2 – Add a pea sized blob of lanolin (Lansinoh is fine) to a bottle of hot water with a similar amount of wool wash/soap. Shake the bottle until the lanolin has mixed. Be sure to check for lumps/balls of lanolin.
Step 3 – Refill the sink with luke warm water, submerge the wool and gradually ad the lanolin mix to the water whilst swishing the wool around the sink. Be careful not to pour the mix directly onto the wool to avoid sticky spots. Leave to soak overnight.
Step 4 – Remove the wool and fold in a towel to press out excess water. Take are not to wring or scrunch your wool.
Step 5 – Lay the wool out to dry on a flat surface and away from direct heat or sunlight. Drying may take a few days.
